Student review [#9896] for City and Regional Planning

In my opinion Sofia University’s name is only a fading legend. The material base is a lot worse than you can possibly imagine. There is not enough laptops nor projectors for that matter. Most of the professors are either very old at age and don’t have the technological education to tutor the students or they are too young and don’t have the experience and idea how to conduct the lectures or exercise. In the specialty I study – Regional Development and Politics, the professors that know what they are doing and are actually capable of teaching in a proper way are not more than 5 people. The administration has no adequate system what so ever. I had a lot of dreams and ideas for how to develop my education and career, but this institution has crushed most of them. According to one of the young professors there is a slight chance of career development after graduating this specialty at Sofia University. If you as a student there want to use the education you have given your time and money to, you absolutely have to sign up for 1-2 masters programs. Most of the grades we get are supposed to be based on tasks we have done during the semester, attendance and the finals. But most of the times it doesn’t matter what you have done or if your presence was full, in the eyes of the tutors you are at the same level as the students that haven’t done anything. I hope me and my colleagues survive until the end of this course. In conclusion I must say that I don’t recommend Sofia University to anybody who wants something meaningful in their life.
