This is my last year of Social Work at UFRJ and it has been a good journey so far. The university is a great environment for new discoveries, with interesting and innovative research and extension projects and extremely qualified professors.
It was excellent to experience what the University offers and the Social Work course at UFRJ is the best it can be!
However, when we think about criticism, I believe that the university needs more investment so that basic conditions are maintained and students have access to quality education (which it does) in a quality environment.
I am a student at ECO (School of Communication) at UFRJ and I think the faculty is very good in terms of teaching and a good social environment, however, it has some infrastructure problems that could be improved a lot! There is almost never water, the university restaurant has queues of 40 minutes sometimes, the buildings are in terrible condition. Overall it’s a good college and I like it, but these infrastructural problems need to be improved
View moreBeing at UFRJ is living a dream. In addition to graduation, there are many branches that you can follow there, such as scientific initiation, participating in free language courses or even working in them, participating in lectures that usually include very important people in the area, pedagogical support, and what differentiates the university on others it is contact with the best professors in the country. They know a lot about the field they teach.
As a public institution, the infrastructure is not the best. At my college, I’ve seen toilets out of toilet paper and classrooms with broken paintwork, and in some, the air conditioning doesn’t work.
People, from what I see in my course, are very welcoming and know how to deal with social differences.
I highly recommend.
Ufrj is an amazing college, always among the best in the country, it was number one in the last federal evaluation! Like all public educational institutions in Brazil, our infrastructure is left out. As a student at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at UFRJ, I can say that it is sad to see the situation of our building and the courses that inhabit it. However, the university city is a place where science and research are increasingly connected with the city and proposals for effective action inside and outside the countryside. The college expands to practice life in our city!

View moreFAU UFRJ is one of the best universities in the country, the problem is that the current government cares little about education and science. I love my course, I had the pleasure of working with amazing professors who opened my mind and inspired me to continue studying with enthusiasm! The building is beautiful, by Jorge Moreira Machado, but was scrapped by the lack of investment and care. We study how and where we can, on the mezzanine, in the corridors, different classes sometimes need to share the same classroom, which can be a little confusing. It is very sad to see so many people willing to study and teach without the necessary infrastructure to do so. Despite everything, architecture is my passion and FAU is my second, beyond all difficulties, FAU inspires, the struggle inspires and that always wins! #ForaBolsonaro
View moreUFRJ is amazing! We have lots of opportunities to learn outside the classroom – such as extension projects, research laboratories, free language courses, and mandatory internships, among others. The institution has several amazing teachers, some that whom I will take as professional colleagues for life! Transitioning from adolescence to adulthood in UFRJ was an experience I will never forget – so many experiences and growth opportunities!
There are a lot of great teachers, with deep knowledge of their courses’ subject. Sadly, we face some structural problems, in which our physical spaces’ resources are limited (e.g. sometimes we do not have toilet paper, paper towels or soap in the bathroom, or our classrooms do not have whiteboard markers) and the teachers pitch in to solve those issues. And, yet, the institution was voted as one of the best in Brazil and Latin America!
For me, the variety of teachers in every subject is a good thing, cause it’s possible to change and learn different things from them, also, how much they know about what they teach is a quality that needs to be highlighted.
Although UFRJ is a kind of a “city” some buildings need some repairs and maybe a reconstruction, they have the space to support so many students, but still need to change some aspects like certain locations that are dangerous, especially at night because don’t have the proper lighting.
