UNIFESP is a university with an excellent reputation, recognized for the quality of its education. As a student, I interact with world-renowned professionals and have access to numerous opportunities in research, conferences, and scientific publications. The atmosphere on campus is also positive; I find most people friendly rather than overly competitive, which makes the medical school routine feel less stressful. One downside is the lack of student housing and a shortage of government funding to renovate the university’s infrastructure.

The school itself is good, but the support is very poor. On top of that, there are a lot of activists there—including some teachers—which really causes problems; instead of just being a school, it turns into something political, and that’s annoying.

The Federal University of São Paulo is one of Brazil’s top universities. Its medical program features a faculty composed of physicians holding doctoral degrees and recognized as national and international authorities in their fields. Despite relying on public funding and facing associated challenges, the university provides excellent education and fosters training based on the biopsychosocial model—an approach that views the human body not merely as a biological entity but also considers subjective and social aspects. For this reason, I recommend that anyone considering medical school take a closer look at this university’s program.

UNIFESP offers a strong academic environment, highly qualified professors, and valuable oppotunities for research, extension, ad professional development. However, like many public universities in Brazil, UNIFESP faces challenges related to limit and unstable financial resources, wich can affect infrastructure, equipment, and student support services. Greater investmen and fairer compensation for faculty and staff would strengthen the institution. Overall, I would recommend UNIFESP for its academic excellence and commitment to public education.
