Although I’m satisfied with the natural environment of the campus, I expect more trees for shades and shadows; other than this issue – it’s one of the most beautiful universities in Bangladesh.
Now let’s talk about academics. KUET (Khulna University of Engineering and Technology) has 15 departments and the syllabuses maintain high international standards. Moreover, our exams are based on the OBE (Outcome Based Education) policy.
Although not all the teachers are that much student friendly, there are also (senior and junior) teachers who are extremely helpful and understanding. Regardless of being friendly or not, all the teachers try their best to help us if they have enough time and we can show them a proper reason to get their help.
KUET has 5 residential halls for the boys and 1 for the girls. More halls are being built (they are almost completed) for the girls and also for the international students. The daily foods in our halls are not that bad; And, the monthly and annual feasts are excellent.
Our campus has a rich culture and diversed group activities to add some thrill and joy in our lives.
Students initially get frustrated because of the hot weather (for having enough tree infront of the Academic Building) and the extreme academic pressure. But, eventually they get used to it.
So, this is how I can summarize my KUET.
View moreKhulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) is a good option for students looking for a strong, academically focused engineering education.
One of its biggest strengths is the campus vibe. Unlike many other public universities in the country, KUET offers a remarkably peaceful and disciplined environment. The campus itself is clean, green, and well-organized, creating the perfect backdrop for studying. Because the community is relatively small, it’s incredibly easy to interact with the professors, who are highly qualified and genuinely helpful. This quiet atmosphere really allows students to put their heads down and focus on developing their technical skills.
However, the experience does come with a few trade-offs. Because it’s located in Khulna—a quieter city compared to bustling hubs like Dhaka—some students feel they miss out on broader industry exposure and networking events. A student must definitely have to be proactive and look beyond the campus to build real-world experience. Additionally, the academic pressure is very high; the workload in the engineering departments can be incredibly demanding.
Overall, KUET provides a top-tier engineering education backed by a supportive, tight-knit academic culture. It’s an excellent choice for serious students, as long as you are prepared to handle the rigorous coursework and hustle a bit harder for off-campus opportunities.
KUET is truly shining right now! The institute and its students are doing exceptionally well across every front.
International competitions have taken off in a big way. “KUET_Effervescent” became the first KUET team to reach the ICPC World Finals 2024, plus impressive successes in the NASA Space Apps Challenge including the global win by Team Mohakash in the “Best Mission Concept” category.
The campus now regularly hosts massive events like KUET IUPC 2025 and Bit Fest 2025, drawing 160 teams and 1,200 students nationwide.
Co-curricular activities are booming like never before; non-stop hackathons, robotics contests, Datathons, project shows, and industry sessions help students build strong real-world portfolios.
Academics remain top-class with solid global rankings, fierce admission competition, excellent faculty, and world-class labs in CSE, EEE, ME, and CE.
Research success is another highlight: faculty winning Best Paper Awards at ICCIT 2024, three professors in Stanford’s World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024, and students actively joining cutting-edge projects.
The energy, resilience, and determination of KUET students make the campus incredibly vibrant and full of opportunities.
If you love engineering, tech, competitions, and research, KUET is one of the absolute best choices in Bangladesh right now. Future batches have huge potential! Highly recommended.
