My experience at Jagannath University has been a mix of challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories. Being located in Old Dhaka, the university offers a unique environment that is very different from other campuses. At first, adjusting to the busy surroundings, traffic, and limited space was difficult, but over time, it became part of my daily life.
Academically, my journey has been quite engaging. I had the opportunity to learn from dedicated teachers who were supportive and knowledgeable. While some limitations in resources and facilities were noticeable, I still managed to gain valuable knowledge and develop my critical thinking skills.
One of the most memorable parts of my experience has been student life. Despite the lack of a large campus, the university is full of energy. Participating in cultural programs, group studies, and spending time with friends created moments I will always cherish. The sense of community among students is strong, and it helped me feel connected and supported.
However, my experience was not without challenges. The absence of sufficient residential facilities and the crowded campus sometimes made things difficult. Managing academic pressure along with these limitations required patience and adaptability.
Overall, my time at Jagannath University has shaped me in many ways. It taught me how to adjust, stay resilient, and make the best out of limited opportunities. The experience was not perfect, but it was meaningful and played an important role in my personal and academic growth.

As a current student at Jagannath University (JnU), I’ve had a rewarding and eye-opening journey—one that has shaped both my academic and personal growth.
JnU is more than just a public university in the heart of Dhaka—it’s a place where students learn to be resilient, resourceful, and ready for real-world challenges. Despite the limitations in infrastructure and space, I’ve found that the commitment of the faculty and the passion of the students make this place truly special.
What stands out most to me is the innovation happening right here on campus. For example, in the Chemistry Department, Dr. Md. Aminul Haque and Dr. Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman are doing incredible work in synthesizing new compounds with potential antimicrobial properties. Their lab uses cutting-edge digital tools to predict how compounds behave before even creating them.
In the field of environmental science, I’ve been inspired by the work of Dr. Dilara Islam Sharif, who’s leading projects on isolating pollutant-degrading bacteria from the Buriganga River. It’s amazing to see how local research is addressing real environmental issues.
And on a broader scale, Dr. Md. Abdul Malak, who directs the Centre for Climate, Society & Environment, is using advanced tools like ArcGIS and Google Earth Engine to tackle climate adaptation and disaster risk management in Bangladesh.
Being part of this university has shown me that even with limited resources, excellence is possible when people are passionate about what they do. JnU has taught me not just academic theories, but how to think critically, manage time, adapt under pressure, and stay curious.
It’s not a perfect institution, but it’s a place full of potential—and I’m proud to be a part of it.
View moreJagannath University one of the top university in BD.Students highly engaged with this university because of location and education facilities. It’s matter of sorrow hall facilities are not available for boys while only a hall available for girls.
Overall academic education excellence is good specifically Chemistry,Law,Philosophy & BBA.
I graduated from Jagannath University. My department was Computer Science and Engineering. I love my campus for some reasons. Although there is some deficit. There are no accommodation facilities for students but an adequate amount of buses for students to transport from one place to another. I’d like to give thanks to the head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for his assistance. He helped me a lot to complete my research on cloud computing. I know it’s very much demandable in the current research field. You can choose this campus if you want to live in Dhaka city. Lots of improvements need for this campus.
