When I first registered as a student in UNYT (University of New York Tirana) I registered at the Information Systems Programme. After 1 and a half years of studies, I got to understand that simply, the programming world wasn’t for me. As an artistic person since childhood, the only language I could speak was art Language and so none of the programming languages made sense within me. This University gave me the opportunity to take a step back, take 6 months of pausing my studies, in order for me to know what I want. As youngsters, everything passes by so fast that sometimes we do not take the right enough time to think about what we want to do in the future. We are simply impacted by out parent’s words for our careers and that is when we sometimes fail to choose for ourselves. After that short pause, I choose to change my programme from IS to Marketing, and I have been thriving at that. I love my new programme, and I find that I can incorporate my artistic character into that. So that is why I would love to speak to any other “student to be” or students to help them toward their paths to this new area of life.
As per my experience:
My professors are very nice and they come from good academic backgrounds. My classes are fun, full of Case Studies, Interactivities, excursions, and lots of learning from the Real World!
The only thing I would critic my University, is the lack of organisation between departments. It takes to much time to finish a small document or registration form for us, because of the lack of organising the work between the different departments. Also, they do have good Erasmus Programs, but they give you subjects that when you come back from your programme, they are not credited to their curricula, because they sometimes do not know the right requirements.
Either way, I think it is by far one of the most prestigious Universities in Albania.
