If you’re considering studying business at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, you’re left with a decision: should you apply to a university or a business school? Although they may offer the same degrees, your overall experience will differ depending on which you choose. So, why study at a business school?
Most large universities will have an economics or management department offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in this sought-after subject. A business school, meanwhile, is dedicated only to business and management studies. That means that from career services to alumni communities, every aspect of the experience is catered to students and graduates of business degrees.
At Rennes School of Business (RSB), students can experience a wide range of responsible management practices and develop essential skills for their career. As the school’s strategic goal, it underlies each part of the student experience—something that wouldn’t be as focused at a large university.
Students from RSB give you five reasons to choose a business school over a university.
Discover Rennes School of Business

Rennes School of Business (RSB) has two campuses: one in Paris and one in Rennes. Known for its multicultural environment, Rennes SB boasts a community of students and faculty from over 100 countries, contributing to the vibrant campus environment.
This international perspective is woven into the school’s curriculum, so while students experience life in a cosy student town in Rennes (one of the best student cities according to EDUopinions reviewers) or in Paris, their studies will introduce them to global business environments. And while all business programmes are taught in English, students will also have the opportunity to learn French through language classes included in their curriculum, as well as workshops and discussions open to all international students, alongside their studies.
In 2024, the Financial Times ranked Rennes School of Business among the best European business schools. In fact, the school is one of only 136 business schools globally with triple accreditation from AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), AMBA (Association of MBAs) and EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System), giving students confidence that their business programme is recognised as one of the most rigorous in the world.
Why Study at a Business School? RSB Students Explain

1. Industry connections
A business school can give you access to corporate recruiters that a university can’t. Many prominent companies look to business schools for new talent for their organisations and contribute their expertise in the classroom, enriching the student experience.
Rennes SB partners with leading global companies and institutions, offering students access to internships, job opportunities, and networking events. For example, just some of the large companies that have partnerships with Rennes SB include:

Student associations like Breizh Investors and Bretagne Conseil also aim to connect students with professionals and networking events in their chosen areas of business.
Additionally, real-world exposure in the classroom through consulting projects with businesses or mentorship from industry experts helps students bridge the gap between their studies and the professional world.
