at Middle East Technical University - METU

METU is one of the best universities in Turkey. It is located in Ankara. METU is very successful in education with its valuable academicians, technical facilities, and comprehensive laboratories. Thanks to its location in the city centre, ODTÜ is very easy to reach and is provided by metro, bus, and minibus. The campus is huge. Eymir Lake is inside the campus and a large part of the campus is covered by a large forest of trees planted by university students. Although Ankara has a steppe soil structure due to its continental climate, METU is so green that it is Ankara’s oxygen source. The language of education at METU is English. There are lots of facilities such as gyms, swimming pools, shopping malls, markets, hairdressers, barbers, banks, and cafes on campus. There are also many dormitories on campus that students can stay in there. METU has many social opportunities. With more than 100 student societies, students can socialize as members of a society that is suitable for their interests. In addition, thanks to these societies, many events, training, and competitions are organized. METU is special with its students who do not give up their resistance against wrongdoing, everyone calling each other “hocam” (teacher), and the revolutionary march of the graduates.
