My honest opinion regarding the current education at the University of Tuzla is very positive. The entire staff of professors and the curriculum are of high quality. In addition, the only downside is that professors can sometimes be subjective in grading, but other than that, everything is excellent.
View moreThe Academy of Dramatic Arts in Tuzla is numerically the smallest part of the university in Tuzla. There are two departments, the Acting Department and the Production Department. The production department is a relatively small major with only ten students. I am currently in my third year of study at the Production Department and there are five of us left. The education lasts 4 years, after that we get the opportunity to enroll in a master’s degree. The professors are extremely competent and dedicated to their work as well as available to us students literally in every part of the day. They also organize consultations for each student and with the whole class. As for the lecture program, we work from slightly older books, but as we are a country that is developing slowly, those books are still “modern” in our country. There are a lot of deadlines for taking the exam, so I will make it easier for students, where they do not have to prepare all the courses in one deadline, but they can divide it into two or three deadlines. There are correction deadlines in September, there are two and then a social deadline. The disadvantage of the Academy of Dramatic Arts is that it is located in a small space on the campus of the University of Tuzla. The student service is dedicated to students to the maximum and available every day, either over the phone or in person. Tuition at the Academy of Dramatic Arts is very expensive for people who do not fall into funding from the budget for our conditions (900 KM semester 4 KM insurance), for people financed from the budget of Tuzla Canton the cost of studying is affordable (100 KM semester 4 KM insurance) . Tuition has not changed since the COVID-19 virus. There is no canteen at our faculty, but there is one canteen at the University level that is used mainly by students who are accommodated in student dormitories. It is located very far from the campus where the Academy of Dramatic Arts is located. Regarding accommodation in student dormitories, a competition is announced at the end of each year, to which students send applications for accommodation. As for the price of accommodation, I’m not sure, but I think it is around 500 KM per school year. Part of the accommodation is financed by the Government of Tuzla Canton.
View moreRGGF is a good college. The professors are good, fair and strict. The curriculum is a bit outdated. The books I learned from when I was studying were outdated in the sense that the period of publication was in the 1950s. The location of the faculty itself is good. The building is functional. The labs are good. There is not much field learning and learning from practice and this is a huge shortcoming. Most of the acquired knowledge is theoretical. The faculty has access for people with disabilities and is close to all bus and taxi stops as well as student centers, cafes, restaurants, libraries, gyms and similar facilities. Everything is walking distance literally. I don’t like that all the professors are in some political parties and that there is animosity between them. Tuition prices are low and the faculty is accredited and recognized everywhere.
View moreIt didn’t meet all my expectations. I am disappointed in how much he does not care about the basic needs of students. Many colleges are not available for wheelchair users at all. Part of the faculty has been rebuilt, but part has only fallen into disrepair since its founding. The teaching staff is quite good, but unfortunately there are a lot of professors who have professional knowledge but do not know the basics of teaching and transferring knowledge. During the pandemic, the university itself did not make an effort to help professors or students. As we are a small department, we have had the opportunity to have live lectures for the last year, but if we had stayed online I would have quit. I would recommend the college to people who have a strong desire for a particular program because if that doesn’t exist then nothing else will even keep you in college.
View moreI would say that my study programme at this university has great potential, as the syllabus is very similar to many of those at other highly ranked European and American universities. However, I feel like the support from our professors and teaching assistants is not sufficient for us to have an effective learning experience.
