In general, the university is fantastic. Both the diversity and the financial aid are excellent. It can be a more difficult experience for individuals depending on your major. Also, because of the size of the institution and the number of commuting students, creating friends necessitates investing time and effort into developing bonds with professors and teaching assistants. But if you can make the most of it, you can do it, and it’s generally a positive experience. Good fortune!
View moreThe University of Chicago is an Amazing university. The University of Chicago offers a really inviting atmosphere, which is why I like going there. Because they want the best for our students, I admire the academic community. I enjoy attending sporting events like basketball and football games because I love the energy that surrounds them. Supporting your school while they’re doing well is enjoyable. The University of Chicago is highly inclusive and provides students with excellent on-campus resources. They sincerely care about their student’s mental and physical well-being.
View moreI came to the University of Chicago for my undergraduate degree, with the intent to pursue a law degree. I found that at the University of Chicago there is a wide range of various majors to study, all of which have great potential to be interesting. One point of advice I’d give to anyone thinking of coming here is to remember to be open-minded and fearless. Do not be rigid in choosing your majors, give it time, reach out to advisors at the university (there are plenty and always willing to help), and talk to your peers. Especially if you are on campus, reach out to RA’s and other older students for their insights. Other than that, take time to enjoy the University and the great number of clubs it has to offer. The food gets better I think, or at least maybe you’ll grow used to it. I would suggest trying to live on campus the first and maybe a second year. The first year on campus will give you a greater feel of the Uni and allow you to get to know more people on campus.
View moreThe university is definitely really challenging academically with a strong focus on economics and finance. It is a very intellectual institution and rigorous in terms of its approach. Therefore, the social scene tends to suffer a little bit but a great experience overall!
