at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia - UPV

The Universitat Politècnica de València is located in an amazing European city, next to the sea. Thanks to our current government, we are also a very open-minded and eco-friendly society (we have so many bike roads!).

In order to involve everybody in the university life, so that all profiles of student have opportunities for having fun while studying, our university has been built as a campus. All our faculties are gathered around a huge park that goes from one side to the other, offering common outdoor areas for students to take a break from their study tasks. Following with this philosophy, there are also common sports’ areas such as a gym, some tennis and padel pitches, football and rugby fields, velodrome, swimming pool, and many more facilities. And remember, all this gathered at the same campus!

As for the technical facilities, there are hundreds of labs, as there are many degrees and many investigation departments. Indeed, due to this, there is a whole city of innovation where around 50 startups are gathered. In this way, the university supports their tasks by granting them access to the labs and to the relations with the industry that the UPV has built for the last 50 years.

As you may have already guessed, the main policy of the UPV is to support innovation; this is why, there is also a whole department that encourages student associations (there are more than 50 already) and that back their activities so that students can both learn thanks to the lectures, but also thanks to their personal experiences. There is also a very strong policy towards encouraging exchange students to come and all the faculties are making a big effort for validating their teaching by gathering international certificates through international bodies such as PEGASUS. In this way, the quality is granted, and foreign students can be sure their exchange will be profitable for their future career.

My experience at UPV has been just amazing. I made so many friends, many of which where ERASMUS, and although they had to work very hard as ours is a prestigious university and therefore our professors do not give anything for free, they all said they never had second thoughts about coming to València. Some of them even came back the year after! All in all, our university is professional, proficient and international.

And then, there is always time to party as our weather is just so great that it is always fine to go out for a beer!
