Coming from a rural area, ukzn has been able to cater for every need I’ve had, I have had only good experiences with the university even though academics can be s bit overwhelming but we do get seminars dedicated to students for such so I’d definitely recommend it
View moreDue to the covid 19 regulations, we were told to evict our residences, leaving behind textbooks and winter clothes. Now that lectures are having online classes and following textbook notes and other relevant material, I am being left behind like I didn’t even purchase those textbooks. Can we just be allowed to go and fetch our belongings because even these res managers don’t want to be bothered?
We continue to pay rent and they don’t care about our academia.
View moreThis university is very peaceful I have not encountered any hassles. They are so orderly and professional. The security is tight, I feel secure and safe at all times. The University of KwaZulu-Natal is home away from home.
View moreThey have good services and facilities. The clinic is good and up to date, the nurses at the campus clinic are friendly towards the student and they make you feel respected. UKZN is such a beautiful university and respects diversity
View moreI have had a bad experience with the management as they continuously changed the curriculum which as a result delayed my registration. I spend days without a place to stay and no one at the management seemed to care even when I had a bursary.
View moreI would start off by staying the review of this “institution” deserves a “0 star” rating.
While reading through reviews today, it prompted me to urge anyone wishing to study at UKZN to please look ANYWHERE ELSE! The current and aftercare support of students is completely non-existent.
I have been in contact with UKZN for months for copies of my academic records. I need these documents to study further for an MBA. UKZN asks for an upfront fee of R600 before they will even attempt to lift a finger. Anyone reading this will know that they don’t answer emails, don’t answer phones and are always on leave and on lunch. If you attempt to call again the line will be unavailable for the rest of the day.
So I’ve tried in vain to contact a human and not just pay over R600 in the hopes that the money would spur someone to actually give me my academic records.
And this isn’t just student management services! Oh no! That would be too easy. Entire departments are just there. Empty shells of what they used to be. Email the Dean. Nothing. Email the Dean’s assistant. Same thing.
Take your time, your money and your future; elsewhere.
View moreThe University Overall offers good quality courses. The staff is qualified and the environment is motivating. I did enjoy the course I did at the University. The information I received was relevant, very informative and the University did shape my future.
What I didn’t enjoy about being part of the University is the method of learning . There was too much theory and little practical work. I wished my course had a Work Intergrated Learning component.
Overall I would definitely recommend the University.
View moreThe administration is such a headache. Especially if you do not have money to pay they don’t make compromises like other institutions to offer you acknowledgement of debts to help you register until your bursaries replied.
