A second thought; is unilorin actually for me?

Unilorin is in such a lovely area and the campus is absolutely beautiful. My overall experience to date has been amazing. It has provided me with a number of opportunities to grow and explore my skills. The emphasis on sports along with education always helped me a lot. I have always found my school to be a positive environment and the teachers are highly supportive. The uni was pretty good with COVID precautions. I’ve enjoyed the course so far. I love seeing lecturers who are really enthusiastic about their subject, even when it seems niche to the rest of us. Moving to in-person lectures has been done well last year. I would say that sometimes the lectures and seminars seem a bit irrelevant to the summative, so perhaps something could be rejigged in that department. The sporadic timetable is stressful. The school bus service is inconsistent and contributes to a difficult lifestyle. It needs some improvement in its infrastructure and bus services. My department could make use of a new building with well-developed infrastructure because we are presently in a building with leaking roofs which makes it hard to use for practical purposes. Unilorin belongs to the academic staff union of universities, the school leaving the union could really do a lot of good for the students cause they have been on strike since February 14 2022 due to the government not responding to funds payment and their hasn’t been any improvement. Every student’s life in any school obviously has its ups and downs, but for unilorin it has more downs. A stressful lifestyle and unhealthy environment could do harm to a student’s mental health. Sometimes, I wish I could turn back the hands of time and not pick unilorin and other times, I’m like “I’d choose this school over and over again”. I would recommend my school to people because the education standard is really nice but If you aren’t in for a stressful living, no recommendations are going out to you and I would advise you to opt-out. Unilorin has the highest number of international student enrollment, but most of these international students are from neighbouring countries in West Africa. To some extent, I’d say unilorin is international. Once done with my bachelor’s degree in food science, I would like to continue to develop my skills and experience by working with professionals. I also want to develop my leadership and organizational skills. This will help me achieve my goal of promoting health care in the future.
