Is it worth studying Architecture in VGTU?

Bachelor degree in Architecture studies (2010-2014).
Master degree in Architecture of Buildings (2014-2016).

I can’t say a lot about whole Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, but I can tell more about Faculty of Architecture. This is because Faculty of Architecture is quite separated from other University units physically and administratively. My opinion about Faculty of Architecture:

Education: when you finish studies and search for a job, the sound of VGTU Architecture diploma is very powerful in Lithuania. VGTU Architecture studies are known as the best studies of architecture in Lithuania, that’s because all the best architects of Lithuania are working there as a lecturers, teachers, consultants or professors. During the semesters there were lots of useful subjects to study, also you could always find a lecturer to consult you about your projects on individual learning time. There were three different internships during summertimes. the last one was an internship in the architectural studio. I could say that I got a lot of specific architectural practice during studies so during the internship periods i found it very easy and fluently going. So I could say that studies were step by step with real-life architecture. I would recommend that during study time there could be more free subjects to choose from and there could be a possibility to make more personalized programmes.

Individual learning: in the University there were lots of possibilities for quality individual learning or working. Faculty of Architecture has its own library with silent rooms, the library is working on workdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., so its a flexible timetable for reading or silent working. Also, there were workshopping rooms for making models (working hours was formed 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., so it’s very convenient for students to choose the best time for them). There are some most useful tools in workshop rooms for making models easier, also there was a consultant, who could always teach you how to models things and to tutor you when working with dangerous tools. The University has a central library which was working 24/7. On the last years of studies, the University opened new workshop warehouse for all the students furnished with new machinery for wood processing, working with metal and turnery machines. I could recommend Faculty of Architecture to buy the CNC machine, laser cutting machine, and 3D printer, these three machines are the newest modeling technology products.

Internationality: The University provides almost every subject in English, so foreigners could easily learn everything. Also, the university is a participant of Erasmus student exchange and other international programmes, so you can get more practice from other countries, and not only from Europe. I would recommend the University to move further and expand possible study countries to choose from when exchanging, and also I recommend to try to invite more foreign architects and lectures during studies.

Hey, I’m an Indian. planning to do architecture from this university. I wanted to know about the job placements. Are job placements made available for Indians after the course is complete? Also, is there any racism in lithuania? Is it safe for girls, around the campus?
