Dear readers,
I am Serena, an Italian student who is about to finish her university career at the University of Milan. I studied Linguistic and Cultural Mediation because I have always been passionate about the languages and cultures of others. I studied English, Spanish and Arabic, but the program also includes the study of economic, legal and political subjects. You can choose to study two languages between the European (English, Spanish, French and German) and non-European options (Arabic, Russian, Hindi, Chinese and Japanese)
I am very satisfied with how this degree course has allowed me to have a broad and satisfying knowledge of these last subjects that I have mentioned, but as far as languages are concerned, I am not very satisfied. The language courses are not well organized and the teachers are competent but disorganized.
Overall, however, this university experience has given me the basis in many subjects that will be useful to me in the master’s degree. A positive aspect of the linguistic and cultural mediation course is that it opens the doors to many master’s degrees.
In general, the University of Milan is an excellent public university, with many interesting three-year and master’s courses, it is cheap and accessible to everyone.
Thanks for reading, I hope it was helpful. Good studies to everyone!
Serena
The state university is a good teaching university; on average the professors I have dealt with so far have shown to be competent and well prepared. The courses are interesting and well structured. However the main problem remains the general organization: often there are communication problems between the university and the students, the site is also not always clear.
View moreI’m attending the second year of university and I think I’ve made the best decisions by choosing this one. In particular, I’m studying foreign languages and, beside the lack of organisation in some cases, which you can experience in all kind of universities, I must say I’m really satisfied: I like the atmosphere, the structure, how the classes are organised and the preparation of the professors. I would recommend this university to anyone who is looking for a good public education.
