In the university of Patras, the courses in my field of “Electrical and Computer Engineering” were as I expected them. The level is normal in the beginning so that everyone can adjust after school and then it rises a lot. But everything is done gradually and if you really follow the lecturers’ at the same time and do your part at studying it can be okay. I didn’t like the introductory courses that much which included a lot of maths and I think most students would feel the same as me. But you will actually realise the necessity of them later. The courses are very interesting.
The books are free for all students and everyone has access and can borrow a book from the library or use a computer.
The facilities are .. I would say just okay when it comes to technical support. There is a slight problem with space though because we are many students and the rooms and the amphitheatres where the lectures are delivered are rather small and sometimes you have to arrive pretty early if you want to have a decent seat.
Overall, I would recommend my university to a friend because I think it really offers a high level of knowledge in Electrical and Computer Engineering and students that graduate have surely some potential on further development and also skills to find a job.
