Globalisation strengthens the connection between companies from all over the world. It is time people understand the importance of international business.
International business degrees are shaped to give students practical knowledge about different business management practices from all over the world. In addition, candidates are prepared for business careers abroad or in organisations that are engaged in business on a global scale.
Moreover, international business is vital in order to understand different cultures and mindsets and ultimately become a global citizen.
A degree in International Business prepares you for a job in a culturally diverse business environment, which means that any graduate can benefit from opportunities in any country.
The advantage of an International Business course is that you are highly employable for most industries since the majority of skills acquired are transferable.
Candidates studying international business will also gain information and insight about the difficulties of starting and growing businesses from different countries, something which is of utmost importance for anyone who wants to make their business thrive.
International Business is usually a three-year commitment, depending on each university. Lately, there are institutions which offer the possibility of having a ‘sandwich course’, which basically enables the candidates to work abroad for one year in the industry, as part of their studies.
The purpose of the ‘sandwich course’ is to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and work in a different culture and environment. In this way, they will understand other mentalities, as well as gain relevant working experience in the field.
Ashesi University is great especially because it is a liberal arts school. We are able to learn diverse subjects despite the program you are offering. What I loved the most was the friendliness of the lecturers. We are supposed to call lecturers by their first names hence it creates a cordial relationship between students and lecturers. The environment is also very beautiful and serene which creates a suitable environment for learning.
This university gives every student a voice and encourages students to be entrepreneurs and be the very best at what they do. I would definitely recommend Ashesi University to everyone!
Ashesi University is a beautifully diverse community of young adults, all with unique backgrounds and aspirations. It is not just an institution of higher learning; it is a hub of inspiration where students are trained to become innovative, critical thinkers and above all, leaders.
Ashesi University has an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and real-world preparedness. The faculty and staff are dedicated to nurturing not only the student’s academic growth but also their practical skills and ability to apply knowledge beyond the classroom.
The school’s emphasis on real-world excellence ensures that students are equipped with the tools and mindset needed to succeed in their future careers.
View moreAshesi University is a diverse university representing over 50 cultures around the world. One key aspect of the school culture at Ashesi University is its emphasis on academic excellence. The university is committed to providing a high-quality education that prepares students for leadership roles in their chosen fields.
Another defining feature of the school culture at Ashesi University is its commitment to community service and social responsibility. The university encourages students to become active members of their communities and to use their skills and knowledge to address the social and economic challenges facing Ghana and Africa. Many students participate in service-learning projects and internships that allow them to gain real-world experience while making a positive impact on their communities.
The school culture at Ashesi University is also characterized by a strong sense of community and collaboration.
Ashesi is indeed Ghana’s most enviable “Ivy League” university. The school’s system and structure train students to be ready for the international job market. From the onset, students are exposed to international competitions and avenues for growth such as internships in banks outside Ghana among others.
View moreI simply love this place. The teachers are very dedicated and they have given their best to see me pursue this course much later in the future. They see me at the most inconvenient hours and do not stop until I thoroughly understand. I owe them everything.
View moreI thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ashesi University. One thing that really helped was the location. It was away from all the noise of Accra and so, it was so peaceful! I could be so much more productive
View moreThe rich and engaging teaching experience prepares students for the international markets. In addition, the small class sizes coupled with the practical session make it very easy to understand concepts faster and better.
View moreMost institutions in Ghana and Africa at large do not operate by the liberal arts system. However, the exposure given to students in this University prepares them for the international job market and for future endeavors.
View moreThe goal of the programme is to get students as engaged as possible and to ensure students think and reason through their answers and decision making. Also the opportunity to sign on to the honour code, to build a trust-based community.
View moreSome of the courses in my program were pretty interesting. I liked the option to take Africana courses and other extra courses that made the studies much more fun. The teachers were highly professional, great teachers and very helpful. Classes were very well structured and there was little to no stress with how the school administered the program. I would appreciate that the school however improves on the enrollment process into courses as it is not so smooth. Also, I would that the school takes depression as a very high rate effect of studying there and manage it better with the workload and mental health of students in a way that actually causes a change. Student life was fun but mostly only tailored towards circular fun and engagements. Christian activities are almost ignored and restricted which was not a pleasant experience, however, I would definitely recommend the school. The school has lots of international engagements which gives students so much exposure to the outside world and to connect with the best in industries all over. The school also has a wide range of international students present and intermittent visits from foreign friends of the school. It is very international in my opinion. About career prospects, they have a great career services department that makes sure that every student and alum lands a job by assisting in choosing the best careers that suit each individual, hosting mandatory career advisory sessions and yearly career day, and endless emails about the available job, internship and job-shadowing opportunities, constantly engaging students with career tips, internship and job feedback. Ashesi is a great school and the best in Ghana. It is the best school I have been to thus far and anyone aspiring to be here should be ready to take great advantage of the excellence produced and required here on the hill.
