Originally called the University of Paris, or Paris II, the university was created following the dissolution of the University of Paris or the Sorbonne. With the desire to keep law studies at a high level and to provide students with the necessary information, they turned the Faculty of Law and Economics of Paris into a university.
In 1990, the university was named ‘Panthéon-Assas (Paris II)’ referring to the address of the faculty of law in Paris, Place du Panthéon and rue d’Assas.

The University of Assas is the first university under French law and for that, I must give a favourable opinion on the lectures given to us. We are very lucky to have a quality of higher education at the majority of French universities. However, to succeed in this university, you have to be motivated and not be afraid of not being accompanied. Indeed, Assas offers excellent training but we can only rely on ourselves to succeed. The level of requirement is very high. As for the atmosphere within the university, it is clear that many will say that there is a cold, tense and competitive atmosphere but I think that if we really want to be part of university life Assas allows us a lot, such as joining associations that defend ideas. Once back in student life, we can only feel happy.
I’m graduate from Panthéon-Assas in political sciences. Renowned in this field, alongside Sciences Po Paris in France. Teachers listened their students. We find also a strong student community. If you are looking for a great atmosphere to study and succeed at the end in the best conditions, I advise you Assas. But you will have to work hard.
