The university truly embraces diversity, both in terms of its student body and academic offerings. The multicultural environment enriched my education, pushing me to step out of my cultural comfort zones and approach challenges in new and unique ways.
The professors at the university are a standout feature, demonstrating a genuine care for each student’s well-being and academic progress. Their willingness to invest extra time for further teaching is commendable and contributes to a supportive learning atmosphere. However, some classes, like English for native speakers and storytelling, felt unnecessary.
The international focus of the university extends to its unique class structures, ensuring that no two classes overlap. While this approach adds variety, it also underscores the importance of a robust French language program, as the existing classes may not be sufficient for comprehensive language learning.
On the downside, the university building’s maze-like structure can be disorienting, and the lack of inclusivity, especially for Muslim women, is a concern. Mix-gendered restrooms and the language barrier create challenges for some students.
Tuition costs can be prohibitive, particularly for those from developing countries. However, the university’s administration is exemplary, with efficient processes and a caring attitude. The bureaucracy is straightforward, making it easier to navigate.
Despite some shortcomings, the university provides ample opportunities for work, study, and internships. However, information accessibility may be limited for non-French speakers, impacting their engagement with bourses and school events.
In summary, my overall experience at this institution has been positive, marked by a commitment to diversity, supportive faculty, and valuable opportunities. Addressing areas like language programs, building accessibility, and inclusivity will undoubtedly enhance the university’s standing even further.
