Universiteit Hasselt - Uhasselt (reviews)

It was a one year master’s program in which we studied about the reuse of abandoned buildings. How you can reuse existing building stock for new functions with necessary interventions keeping in mind the heritage and architectural values of the building.
We did multiple site visits and workshops within Europe including Rome, Wuppertal, Brussels, Maastricht etc.
In the second semester, we were allowed to choose our own project for the thesis and design studio.

The study environment is very good. Teachers are very cooperative and helpful. Guide each student according to their interest. Working spaces are very interactive and also personal. Nice facilities of model making studio, shop from where you can but materials for working and also good printing room. Also, have a good space where you can photograph your design models with a white background ad then edit them. The course outline of English master’s is very interesting, also for exchange students.

Studying law at the University of Hasselt is more than just learning about rules. We get to apply these rules to actual cases while being counselled by professionals in the field.
Something special about the university is that it is transnational cooperation with the University of Leuven and the University of Maastricht.
Another advantage is the fact that you have four exam periods per year. This way, you get feedback really fast.

The program brings international students from diverse fields related to transportation into two specializations; road safety, transportation planning and policy.
I was able to transfer theoretical knowledge into practice through an internship opportunity offered in the program.
The program was 90% taught online and the exam was physical due to the pandemic so I didn’t enjoy the campus life.

In Uhasselt you are encouraged to question everything and experience your own journey to the truth or at least your version of the truth. This university not only provides education, it also learns from its students and adapts to the changing environment. A lot of big events are planned through the academic year, which allows us to see the discovering part of Uhasselt. In short, this university behaves in a proactive manner on different aspects.
