These days, having a stressful day is the regular routine. Work, studies, internships… we all do too much to get to what we really want to do. But are you really on the right path? Are you running in the right direction? Today I bring some tips for you to understand yourself and others a little better and figure out ways to do your best and still have time to do other things.
By doing good to yourself, you are doing good to the world. Let me explain: we all want a happy life that makes us socially recognized, independent, financially well off in a fulfilling job. Right? Then, why do a majority of people fail at being happy? One of the reasons is that we dismiss our heart’s wishes, intuition, and purpose. Indeed, we let ourselves follow the expectations of our parents, friends, girlfriends, and boyfriends.
As a result, we end up studying and later working in fields that do not fulfil us, challenge us, complete us. I know this because I was there. I started my bachelor’s degree in international business management in 2014, right after high school. In March 2017, I finished school and did 3 internships in sales, marketing, and business development. I never felt in the right place. In fact, instead of asking myself what I really wanted, I turned off from that and did what I believed I was expected to do. Three years into my bachelor’s degree I was lost and frustrated. I had no space nor energy to be open to others, listening and helping them achieve their goals. What I have learned from this is: practice listening to yourself to find what you are talented at (we all have a talent) and do not let it go at any price.

We are here for a reason and by following our purpose we actually use ourselves to contribute to making the world a better place. Oprah Winfrey said in 2015 on her TV show, Super Soul Sunday, “Remain authentic and embrace your calling. You then become free of your fears and you become more open to others and to help them”. That sentence changed the way I envisioned my life and my professional purpose. I have turned around my life goals as I thrive to become a social activist and a writer to help others find that precious revelation. Fulfill your dreams and be good to yourself so you can be good to others. That way, you will contribute to making the world a better place.
To conclude, making the world a better place is about focusing on using yourself, your talent to help others achieve their dreams, be happy. You can only do that if you are happy and doing what you are want to do. So, think about it, are you’re doing what you really want to do?
