There are so many different courses available here, and the lecturers are all very helpful. Except for a few key courses like chemistry, biology, etc., class numbers are generally on the smaller side. The campus has a very high level of security. Employers appear to regard NC State degrees and have high expectations for its graduates.
View moreI majored in biological sciences, with a specialization in human anatomy. This major is essentially the “pre-medical” wing of NCSU. I has a great advisor who is very helpful when it comes to applying to medical school, who knows what I need to do to study for the MCAT and tols me when is the best time for me to take classes . I had good teachers who tailor my classes (those not directly biology classes – like physics, calculus 1 and 2) to my major, since the state has special classes designed to meet the needs of majors in life sciences. I really enjoyed my classes, they were intellectually stimulating for me, but I still had free time to study outside the classroom. There are many ways to learn how to apply to medical school, apply for internships, and shadow positions through HealthPac.HealthPac is an on-campus organization designed to be a resource for all students planning to attend medical school (not just those in the Biological Sciences-Human Anatomy concentration). I highly recommend HealthPac if they are also considering attending medical school after graduation from NCSU.
