I pursued my Associate’s degree and thoroughly enjoyed almost all of my classes. My studies were divided between classroom work and kitchen labs; we’d study concepts in the classroom and then work with the material hands-on in the kitchen the following day. Our curriculum was international, so we worked with recipes from all over the world. The business courses were very helpful, and I actually enjoyed that our final graduation project was a real business plan that could be taken to an investor. The teachers all had extensive backgrounds in different areas of hospitality, and I found almost all of them immensely helpful and informative. The only thing I didn’t care for was the drive, which was at least an hour each way. Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed my education.
