Having had a taste of multiple campuses at the University of Salford, it has become apparent that there seem to be good facilities for those taking media or health sciences. Generally the lecturers are kind and caring and helpful, though there are a few who are pretty terrible at giving feedback and deliver lectures in the most boring of ways. It seems a good university for research based in acoustics and has a vibrant array of ethnicity. Life in Manchester is good too with a really good music and comedy scene with its night life being average, but good on certain nights. I cannot comment on accommodation as I never stayed in university halls, however they have recently built a new development of student housing so you should be able to get somewhere that is fairly decent. Pretty much anywhere in central manchester is a commutable distance to any campus and there are good leisure facilities provided by the University. I would say the value for money is average due to the fact that student fees have risen and some lecturers can really make a hash of explaining things and some facilities and rooms are so outdated and need a refresh – having said that, there are some good lecturers there.
