It was a great experience studying at the University of Surrey. The course could have more classes and practical situation. More labs sessions could have helped a lot of students and overall the university has a lot of facilities.
View moreAt the time, my parents told me to choose Surrey. I chose Surrey because I knew there was a lot of support for summers and internships. The reality is that I had to work for financial reasons. My parents couldn’t help me, nor did I want to overwhelm them. The reality is that without the internship program in Surrey I would not have been able to complete the course
View moreIf you are undecided whether to go to Surrey or not. Go to Surrey. I went there and loved it. Surrey is an amazing university full of bright and friendly people. I studied at Cambridge for a Masters and Oxford for a PhD and I can say I preferred studying in Surrey a thousand times more. I felt like there was a lot more help out there
View moreIf you are trying to decide between Surrey or a Russel Group uni just because someone told you that Russel Goup is like Ivy league then choose Surrey. The Russel Group is probably the most stupid “standard of quality” I ever heard.
View moreI completed my degree in Surrey and an MA at Imperial. I can say with 100% certainty that Surrey give Imperial a 10-0. The teachers in Surrey really want to hear from you and it’s only natural that you keep in touch with some of them over the years.
View moreI like this university very much. I chose the internship program but became a big fan of the academic environment. I became friends with Professor Joao Santos Silva, who is undoubtedly the best professor in the world
View moreA university with room for everyone. Surrey is a university where you can always find someone to relate to. When I entered the university I was a bit scared. It was the first time that I would live outside my country and without my parents. I was afraid of not being able to make friends. These were silly fears from day one that the Studentenwerk had prepared hundreds of events to help first-year students integrate.
I also did an internship which helped me a lot with my job search because I had already acquired the necessary skills to excel in job interviews.
View moreSurrey university is a campus in the heart of the city centre. Ironically, the lake in the middle of the campus is shaped as a heart as it is completely located in the heart of Surrey city centre. The university itself is a campus style university that once you are in feels welcoming and relaxed in contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the city centre and the bullring shopping centre which makes everything convenient and within walking distance. However, there are 3 train stations within walking distance and there are hundreds of bus stops to take you on the bus to locations. The convenience is the best part as shops are a 2-minute walk from the university so everything is on your feet. The only slight downside is the safety of Surrey as a city but the safety of the university itself is more than exceptional.
I like the campus and the facilities. The look of it is quite modern and I like that it is all packed in one place rather than spread around town. Surrey is a nice town to live in, but it is not very big, so there aren’t as many events as there may be in different locations. Surrey is in the centre of Surrey which makes it easy to go to town after uni and this definitely makes the student experience better. I really like the university library, it is big and modern and students have access to many different programs and software. I also like that it is 24/7 so I can go there even very late at night. I wish other facilities (faculty buildings) were open on the weekends, it would definitely help me to get my work done.
View moreVery beautiful campus. Good food options in and out of campus. Good proximity to Tesco and Lidl. Surrounded by Surrey hills. There is a diverse population at the University and a wide range of courses. The teaching staff is excellent and the UK is well-known for good placements after your studies.
