One of the highlights of the University of Surrey is the ongoing availability of events for students to actively participate in, regardless of whether it’s during the weekdays or weekends. The dedication to your success and well-being is evident among the entire university community. With a multitude of individuals and organizations to connect with, it’s nearly impossible to experience boredom, as there are countless opportunities for engagement and involvement.

Having commenced my studies at the University of Surrey just a month ago, I can already attest to having a positive experience thus far. The campus environment is delightful, and I appreciate the well-managed scheduling of classes, providing ample time between them. This allows me to effectively complete all my homework before each class, ensuring a smooth academic routine.

I graduated in Surrey. Very cool in terms of the environment. Huge ease of making friends especially if you are international as there are so many events. I used to go to all the French, Portuguese, Spanish events because I loved the food and the people.

Interaction with lecturers who were very patient and able to talk around their subject and answer some challenging questions. Visiting lecturers and lecturers from working hospital environment who could share real life experiences.

University campus is very picturesque and the area is safe & quiet (there are a few places if you want to go out but for more exciting nights out you’d want to go to London). The biggest downside of Guildford are the living costs, uni accommodation is only guaranteed for the first-year undergraduate students and afterwards rent can be crazy expensive! There are loads of sports clubs and societies to join and also the ports park which has amazing facilities and is quite affordable for students. In terms of teaching, for those interested in biosciences I would definitely recommend Surrey, the majority of lecturers are super friendly and helpful, however, due to the numbers of students in each year I wouldn’t expect loads of very personalised feedback on your progress; if you want to do a placement year Surrey also offers a lot of support

Great campus, good academics, and good spaces. Amazing location, proximity to a lot of places in the UK plus international destinations! I recently moved to Midlands and only now realising how convenient it was to have Heathrow and Gatwick so close by.
