A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
University of Dundee. A tight, close-knit community that is extremely sincere and helpful towards each other. The campus is set between scenic hills on one side, River Tay on the other and Northern Sea on the east side of the campus. Beginning with the institution itself, the amount of support university administration lends towards its students is unmatched be it financial support, academic support or mental health, and unlike anywhere in the United Kingdom. If you were to conduct a satisfaction survey within the campus, it would score 95% and above. The university is equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities but all of that can be seen on their website. What stands out or what matters the most is that the campus and the people that make this university feels like home. Within a month of moving here and starting your studies, chances are you will get to know a lot of people and you will come across them whenever you are out. Here, everybody knows everybody. This immediately puts a positive impact on international students especially who initially have this daunting feeling of being away from home.
On the academic front, the lecturers and your advisors are always keen on helping you and supporting you through your journey and the study plans which are a combination of hybrid and on-campus, are incredibly well programmed and managed. I studied post-graduate in International Marketing and my tutors were extremely well-informed and had impressive professional qualifications which is always better since we get to see a field perspective during studies. University of Dundee has my heart. You shall leave Dundee, but Dundee will never leave you.
Dundee is an affordable city. the main campus locates in the city center, which is a nice location. I like the library in the center of the main campus and the library has many rooms and space to study. especially for medical students, it’s a nice choice to study here.
