The University of Novi Sad offers a wide range of opportunities to study one of the fields of Computer Science. The most popular ones are those at Faculty of Technical Sciences and at Faculty of Sciences.
At Faculty of Sciences, there are currently 2 undergraduate academic studies focused on Computer Science fields. This Faculty also follows the latest trends in the IT industry and offers students master academic studies in the field of Data Science.
Faculty of Technical Sciences offers multiple academic studies at both the undergraduate and master level. Students are offered knowledge connected to the technologies which are in-demand at local IT industry. Computer Science programs at this Faculty go beyond just theoretical knowledge since these programs are usually structured in the way where students’ practical projects are required to pass certain exams. During the work on students’ practical projects staff is open to offer help and guide students to finish projects using best practices.
The whole university is recognized by the industry as a place where future job candidates can be found. This is the most noticeable in Computer Science field, since IT industry at national, and even more at local level expanded in the past 10 years. One of the opportunities where the academic circle and IT industry are connected are Job Fairs organized by students’ organizations. Job Fair which has the highest number of companies and students visitors is KONTEH – Fair of job opportunities and internships organized at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. This fair is present at the university since 2006.
To anyone seeking education in the Computer Science field, University of Novi Sad offers everything needed for a future career at a local or international level.
Study programs are outdated and repetitive, professors too busy with their side projects and after a few years of studying you get a feeling that whatever you need from the Faculty is gonna cost you, so overall it gets pretty expensive little by little. Still the best option for students in Novi Sad though, compared to other Faculties.
I study history at faculty of Philosophy,University of Novi Sad.The campus is a great place to meet new friends and hang out in the park.Everything is nearby,dorms,2 cantinas as well. The food meets almost everybody taste and requirements.I really like the main square, where there are book sellers almost regardless the weather outside. You can buy even some antique books, old vinyl records, comic books.maps.Recently they opened new Rectorate building which was voted as the most creative and best looking public building in the city by the citizens.I am proud of my University to have an excellent center for foreign languages from Portugese to Japanese.Very good environment for study, regarding a rich and well equiped library which is second in the country by volume,IT-equipped classrooms. Most professors are extremely helpful, student orientated if you are really interested in the subject. Also i would mention international colaboration with foreign universities in Italy,Spain,Germany,Romania. At my University it was held a presentation about AEGEE youth organisation so I got engaged and changed my life for better, become more active,open-minded to the world, went on cultural exchanges and got in touch with erasmus students as well.On monthly basis, University is organising movie nights, student debates, courses with guesting professors and more.I would recommend AEGEE local antenna for many reasons fun, travel, learning new things with different perspective and sharing ideas with students alike across Europe. Also, the University itself is quite cheap for study as well to foreigners,on the other hand it would be a good idea to implement new subjects and courses and fully digitalize especially old books.
I think this university is a very good place for a student overall, most of the faculties, dormitories, and student’s restaurants are all very close to each other and placed in a nice part of the city, faculties are very well organized with many various student’s organizations, there are also number of social events happening all the time, professors overall are very professional and very well qualified for their work. overall, very positive experience
Absolutely great faculty and university. Since freshman year until postgraduate, I was blessed to work with some of the best professors in the region and maybe even world. I had a great experience and I would recommend this to anyone who is willing to learn, for sure you won’t be disappointed!
I am very satisfied with central library and with library of each department, staff there is really doing their job. Also, professors are very professional and their knowledge is very wide. Tuition fee is not so high, so it’s affordable even for the students who are not financed from country’s budget.
In my opinion on Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, there is not enough cooperation between teacher and student. This is one of the key factors for why students who complete this faculty do not have enough knowledge and skills. As in sports, a good coach is that coach who will make as many players as he can play in the first team, so it is at the faculty too. Because of lack of cooperation, it is missing. I think that there is not enough attention according to students and that’s why the results are missing.
The university is very good and you can get much knowledge if you want to. Conditions and age of some equipment are bad but it is still good for learning. Faculty of technical sciences is the best faculty in the campus and I recommend it. Power Engineering, programming and Power Engineering – Power Electronics and Electric Machines is hard but ones of the most efficient study modules on the faculty because you can find a job easily.
The thing that I don’t like is expensive cost of studying. Every faculty may low down costs, which student pays, even if he studies on budget of the country. But nice things are good professors who are more like friends, and food in students restaurant is cheap and tasty. So there is more good stuff than bad… 🙂
