What Is an International Business Degree?

Globalisation strengthens the connection between companies from all over the world. It is time people understand the importance of international business.

International business degrees are shaped to give students practical knowledge about different business management practices from all over the world. In addition, candidates are prepared for business careers abroad or in organisations that are engaged in business on a global scale.

Moreover, international business is vital in order to understand different cultures and mindsets and ultimately become a global citizen.

Benefits of an International Business Degree

A degree in International Business prepares you for a job in a culturally diverse business environment, which means that any graduate can benefit from opportunities in any country.

The advantage of an International Business course is that you are highly employable for most industries since the majority of skills acquired are transferable.

Candidates studying international business will also gain information and insight about the difficulties of starting and growing businesses from different countries, something which is of utmost importance for anyone who wants to make their business thrive.

International Business Degree Structure

International Business is usually a three-year commitment, depending on each university. Lately, there are institutions which offer the possibility of having a ‘sandwich course’, which basically enables the candidates to work abroad for one year in the industry, as part of their studies.

The purpose of the ‘sandwich course’ is to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and work in a different culture and environment. In this way, they will understand other mentalities, as well as gain relevant working experience in the field.

    Pro’s and con’s of UOA

UoA is a good university. Very competitive in the sense that it’s the top uni in the whole of NZ. What i do like about being a student there is that the professors and tutors are very flexible with my personal schedule- they allow me freedom so that I can work around being at uni and handing in my assignments on time as well as dealing with the fact that I also work full time. The tutors are also very encouraging, they’re always set out to making sure that all students are achieving to the best of their ability. The university is also very inclusive and understanding which is why I believe it deserves its place as the top uni in nz. What I would find as a disadvantage is the location which really isn’t an issue but with the rising cost of transport, travelling back and forth to uni is very expensive which for me is deal breaker. Other than that, I do find that University of Auckland is one of the best universities to attend.

    Their cleanliness

It is a wonderful university and I think its beautiful n produces excellent academic records. I personally love their order system and also their creativity in placing art and nature as their way of giving back to nature.

    Flexibility

The University of Auckland is prestigious and internationally recognised and has its alumni in multiple disciplines across the globe. I completed my postgraduate diploma in business administration at UOA. They were flexible in that I could study for the course online. They gave me credits for my previously completed courses elsewhere and I could study for them part-time. Towards the end of my course, I moved to Australia. However, they helped me arrange for an invigilator locally so that I would be able to sit for my exams in order to complete my degree. There were numerous resources that were provided and the teachers are genuinely vested in the best interests of their students. The Business School campus is very spacious and diverse. When I was able to go on-premise for my lectures, I found it to be an inspiring and supportive environment. I would highly recommend anyone looking to do a business degree to explore their opportunities at UOA.
