A Management degree builds a strong foundation in a wide variety of fields including business, finance, economics and marketing. It develops students’ understanding of business practices, structures, business theory, business strategy and research as well as global economies and financial markets. Doing a Management Degree also allows students to gain skills that enable them to work with financial and numerical data effectively.
Management degrees cover different managerial roles, such as Human Resource (HR) management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. They can be specialized into one of the areas mentioned above or follow a more general approach that covers most of these areas.
The range of management degrees is huge and includes Business Management, Management, Marketing Management, etc. They are predominantly offered in the business departments/business schools/management schools of different universities.
One of the main benefits of this degree is that Management is a broad discipline, which keeps students’ career options open.
Management degrees could have a very practical focus, which is an opportunity for students to gain experience in the process of completing their degree before having started their professional careers. Management courses usually offer work placements and practical modules, which include business simulations and business creation in a simulated environment. Acquiring practical experience through these opportunities could make students stand out from the crowd in the job market once they graduate. Research-oriented Management degrees also exist for those who prefer the theoretical aspects of such a degree. Most courses, however, have established a good balance between theory and practice in order to meet the needs of all students.
Management degrees also prepare students to serve the managerial role across a wide range of areas, including HR management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. Students can specialize in one particular area or focus on gaining knowledge across all of these areas thanks to the high availability of different management courses.
Additionally, there is a high demand for management professionals in the contemporary business world. Therefore, taking a management course is an opportunity for students to kick-start their careers and occupy a higher position in the organizational hierarchy.
Management courses usually begin by introducing students to different areas covered by the managerial role, such as organizational management, business environment, statistics, accounting and finance, business growth, etc. After the first year, institutions allow students to explore the management discipline into more depth by delivering specialized modules and offering optional modules, which enable students to choose subjects that interest them the most and are most relevant to their career aspirations.
Management degrees take 3 years to complete in the UK. However, their duration could extend to 4 years if students choose to spend a year in industry between their second and third year, which is a popular option among the student community. Setting placement opportunities apart, the duration of a Management degree depends on three main factors – country, mode of study (part-time or full-time) and degree level. Below are listed the approximate durations of Management degrees in the most popular countries for Higher Education in Europe:
The courses available and the method of delivery is really amazing. I love how the lecturers communicate and try their possible best to make you understand their viewpoint as as listen to yours. I also love the location of the university. It is located close to the city centre which offers a lot of fun activities because as much as I am a student, I need to blow off steam now and again and having various ways to do this is amazing.
View moreIn general, company executives and workers find it to be a good teaching facility. For all firms with an international orientation, the expertise offered is remarkable. All of the professors who are coming here are of the highest caliber and come from other top-tier international business schools. They have a keen understanding of how academia and actual market demands interact. Overall, the program was excellent, emphasizing real business perspectives and real life rather than dealing with an excessive amount of academic theory. It was innovative, modern, and efficient. Excellent instructors, convenient location in the heart of Athens.

Great professors and projects gave us hands on experience on companies’ and market’s requirements. Project grading system could be more fair though as many times peers were evaluating each other and they were judging personal relations or personal gains instead of the actual contribution to the project.
It is a well known university especially among business professionals. It is well connected to the business world. The most important asset of studying there is the Career Forum at the end which will guarantee some good interviews with top companies. However positions offered are usually at a junior level. Courses are intensive a lot of knowledge to absorb at a sort period of time.
View moreOverall the level is good.
But there should be a better selection of teachers. Some have not taught before and should maybe teach undergraduate courses, not masters. Also, some teachers’ english was non existent.
Furthermore, physical and electronic library are not user friendly and it is very difficult to find what you are looking for.
Finally, the computers on campus were very slow and hard to use.
Other than the above mentioned, overall it was a good spending of my time and money of course.
ALBA is the leading business school in country with exceptional courses adapted to the market, cited in the downtown Athens. It’s was an amazing experience to study there as the environment was really friendly and international as well! I highly suggest it!!
View moreMy studies at ALBA have proven to be a valuable asset in pursuing a successful career in Market Research, since they gave me a solid academic background in my field and helped me improve my presentation skills.
Moreover, ALBA helped me “escape” the purely academic aspect of studies and early on during the courses, gave me a clearly professional/ actionable perspective of things.
Excellent overall – at least for people that want to live in Greece but not only for them.
Great Professors, Applied education culture, Best Career Prospects
I met some amazing people and experienced so much during my year there.
I feel Alba really helped to boost my confidence and encouraged me to become more ambitious about my future.
There was plenty of support from the professors and the career office for both academic / educational issues and for career issues.
Through ALBA I had some really good opportunities which I probably wouldn’t have had at another uni.
I was an international student, and attending university in a country where Greek is the major language was a scary and an exciting thought at the same time.
The faculty made transitioning easy, they were welcoming, lectures were in English, it was fun and everyone was carried along. The professors were friendly and always willing to help.
With the campus situated in one of the oldest cities in the world, it was an all-round learning experience. Nightlife is fantastic and everyone is generally nice and eager to help.
I would recommend studying at ALBA to anyone
