The best thing about the University of Winnipeg is your opportunity to get involved. The first week of school they hire a live band and have booths all over with information about different student groups. Joining one is the best way to get connected on campus, and to feel like you’re making a difference. Whether you join an art group, a social group, or a chess club, I honestly feel like that’s the best way to get the most out of University.
View moreThe best part about the University is their versatility in their accommodations. They have braille on their doors, ramps and elevators. The students are also really nice and easy to talk to, though some classes can be hard to find someone is always willing to point you at the right direction. Their accessibility services is the best thing about them! The service is absolutely wonderful!
They provide a wide arrange of services depending on what the student requires. Talk about putting the student first! The only downside is that some students require a more selective process of accommodation like having sildents clocks and ear plugs. I think that some people are scared to ask so making a list of what student can and can’t have other than the basic outline is a good idea. Plus it allows students to preform to the best of their abilities. Other than that the improvements that need to be made are little to none. They offer fantastic services but by far ensure that students can be students even if they require more than others!
View moreThe University of Winnipeg strives to create inclusivity in all aspects. Educators made sure to work alongside students while pushing their students to their best ability.
In terms of administration, the department seems to be overwhelmed and understaffed. I have had to spend hours in line, waiting to speak to an advisor which whom I had already booked an appointment.
