I am currently an anthropology major, and my experience with the anthropology department was amazing. The lecturers are very well-versed in their subjects of expertise, and were very willing to accommodate for questions. Be prepared for lots of readings though!

One thing that I love about UBC is the amazing professors that I have had the opportunity to learn from. The professors that I have had are mostly quite caring on top of being very knowledgeable, and are open to answering questions, overall, amazing!

The people at UBC are among the kindest and most inclusive people you will ever meet. The professors are quite approachable, and are willing to answer questions. The campus is easily the highlight of your experience, basically being akin to a mini city.

I think that the campus community is beauriful and vibrant. It doesn’t matter what your interested are, you will 100% find a club that caters to you, and you will be able to be part of a community with shared interests and/or collectively work towards a goal you are passionate about.

The Housing and Food systems in place are horrible tho.

UBC’s Anthropology department is one of the best in the country. Many of my classes made use of MOA, where we curated and researched artefacts. As well, I found the majority of my profs to be insightful and experienced. Overall, I would highly recommend UBC for its location, accessibility, and future career opportunities.
