I opted to study at Ghent University in Belgium as it was close to my hometown. I was incredibly excited about studying for my masters in African studies, as I had always been intrigued by this course. I also knew that this course was the only one of its kind in Belgium, so I knew that I was getting a really rare chance to study this course. the course was also completely taught in english which allowed me to perfect my english speaking, reading and listening skills. i thoroughly enjoyed my time at univeristy here and found the course to be exceptional. It was an incredible experience to learn more about African cultures and societies, as well as the history of the continent.
View moreGhent University is very open to international students, sustainability, innovation and mental health. These are all things dear to my heart which I appreciated a lot. Furthermore, research infrastructures such as labs and test areas provide students with high end instruments and equipments.
View moreIn the heart of Europe and the Beautiful country, this University or Ghent is located. It has a lot of international students. The studies are not easy there is a lot of pressure on students but it’s overall fine.
View moreIt was such a good experience and had tremendous support throughout the master’s. I will definitely recommend this course as well as the IMBRSea master programme to aspiring graduate students who are interested in marine biology
View moreI was part of an international MSc programme in Marine Science. The university has amazing facilities (classrooms and labs). The quality of education is astonishing, the professors are top researchers on the topic, although the professors can be way too strict at times and the evaluation methods quite hard. The city of Ghent is also a very nice and vibrant place where you can enjoy the tourist attractions and enjoy the Belgian culture. Besides, that is a student city, therefore there is always something going on. I really enjoyed my time in Ghent and cannot recommend it enough, hight recommend.
View moreVery good education it is very educational. Nice trackers and good infrastructure. Also, very nice food in the cafeteria and the students are very welcoming. The philosophy department has very good professors.
View moreThe University is simply top notch, with great facilities, huge laboratories and very relevant and well taught course contents, although the professors can be way to strict at times and the evaluation methods quite hard. It was very easy being an Erasmus Student at UGent, since classes are taught in English and you get a lot of support during the whole time.
Other than that, Ghent is just a phenomenal city – it’s beautiful, you have a lot of things to do, and it simply has a great and young vibe (in many ways due to the very strong presence and impact of the University students).
Long story short, this is a 5 star University, and I just can’t recommend it enough!
I studied Communication Sciences at UGent, and graduated 2 years ago with a Masters degree. During my whole degree I found the running of my university very professional ans well handled. My specific courses were mostly interesting, although I have to say that I wish my masters was more hands-on at some moments. I get that it’s an academic course, but sometimes I got the feeling that we didn’t get to do anything other than reading books. Overall a good school though.
