The University of Manchester offers a great balance between the feel of a campus and a city university. Last year, I was living in a catered hall, and that gave me some of the experiences one would expect from a campus university as well as the entertainment of a bustling city. My course is also great. Mechanical Engineering with Management is exactly what I wanted to study, and this was one of the few univerities to offer it. The academic support here is incredible (I suppose most U.K. universities are very good at that) and, on the whole, the lecturers are interesting and extremely knowledgeable. The School of MACE is very good, offering plenty of opportunities during and post-degree, the university is huge, with all the societies you could imagine, and Manchester is a fantastic city full of friendly people! I’ve been here for two years and I am very happy. Overall, it’s a great place to live and learn.
