I would recommend it as there are multiple options available for what you would like to study, and there are various helpful resources if you are studying. However, my experience
was not pleasant, I never felt like I fit in and struggled to make friends, the department my studies were correlated with was horrible, not very understanding and helpful. The fees are alot and to gain funding you have to have very high marks which is very difficult to achieve. My first few years were difficult but I was with a different department which made it easier for me, nearing the end of my studies I struggled greatly and nearly quit. I lost my bursary but I didn’t quit, i completed my studies with the help of my peers. UCT is a great university with many helpful resources but not all of their departments are helpful.
My overall experience has been exceptional, One of the highlights of studying at UCT is the university’s renowned academic reputation. The stimulating and challenging courses provided by passionate and knowledgeable professors have allowed me to expand my knowledge and explore various fields. UCT boasts a plethora of student clubs, societies, and sports teams that cater to diverse interests. In terms of support services, UCT has an extensive range of resources available to students. Finally, UCT’s location in the vibrant city of Cape Town adds another dimension to the student experience.
