Overall, UoM was an amazing university and I am glad to have been a part of it.
View moreI have had an amazing experience at the University of Manchester, a prestigious university known for its academic excellence and thrilling student life.
Firstly, the University of Manchester offers a broad range of innovative and practical courses which enable students to explore different fields of their interest. Professors and teaching staff are intelligent, experienced and approachable, they are always willing to assist students in different ways, for example, by providing guidance and supplementary materials. Despite the support from teaching staff, the university also invests in various resources to help students to succeed academically, for instance, there are multiple buildings for different faculties that are used as student’s learning and meeting spaces. As a student of business management, Business School is my favourite place because it’s the best school in terms of design and facilities that provide me with an excellent learning environment.
The student community is diverse and inclusive, with an atmosphere of enthusiasm and energy on the campus. The university has a good mix of local and international students, there is also a variety of societies and events organised by students and the university based on students’ interest in areas like culture, sports and recreation to further develop students’ passion and interest outside the classroom as well as to build connections with people with different backgrounds and explore opportunities. I have grown from a fresher to a university student who is a president of a society, student representative of my course and volunteer as a representative of the University of Manchester this year, this has largely enhanced my student experience.
Finally, I have found the career services at the University of Manchester incredibly helpful as they provide career advice and allow students to find out about job opportunities and other information on their website or by visiting The Atrium for individual consultation. Their services include CV reviews, promotion of networking and career events, and assistance in identifying career goals for students. As there is a compulsory module in the first year of a business degree which provides CV guides and evaluations, it will be easier and more convenient for business students to seek career support and advice from professionals.
In a nutshell, I highly recommend the University of Manchester to others. The diverse community, energetic lifestyle, and dynamic campus atmosphere create a truly inspiring environment for learning and personal growth. The friendly and diligent students, collaborative environment, and comprehensive support make it an excellent choice for anyone seeking a top-notch education and a sense of belonging.

View moreThe campus is great, and the university on the whole just seems to attract friendly people. Maybe it’s the Northern vibe seeping into everyone who arrives here.
The vast majority of the teaching I’ve experienced has been excellent (there’ll always be one or two whose teaching style doesn’t gel well with your learning style!). The University has many world class researchers in various subjects, and everyone lecturing knows their specialisms very thoroughly.
Also lovely about the University is the real focus it places on research — it’s all too easy for an establishment to lean back too heavily on teaching, and neglect bring at the forefront of research. UoM had a history of making headlines, and has some fantastic alumni.
View moreI appreciate that it is a small town and that I can take smaller classes with teachers who are familiar with me. This makes seeking guidance and asking questions simpler. It is unfortunate that I am far from home. However, it is surrounded by lovely farmland that is similar to home. It has a lovely campus and is quite green.
