University of the People (UoPeople) is an American non-profit distance learning institution of higher education that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Personally for me, it’s been a wonderful online learning experience. We get our learning materials and resources at the beginning of each term and we are expected to participate in the registered course every week. All students get a new assignment, reading material, and quiz every Thursday and we are expected to meet the submission deadline which is next week Wednesday.. All students participate in the discussions forum where we are able to relate and share ideas with course mates, instructors and also grade their input in the discussion. The mode of assessment is Peer assessment or self-assessment. A process whereby students or their peers grade assignments or tests based on a teacher’s benchmarks.
I would gladly recommend UoPeople to anyone looking for a structured distance learning experience. And be sure to do a background research on your own.
