The architecture and grandeur of the main campus is unbeatable. I fell in love with this university the moment I set foot on the grounds. It has a very European feel, likely due to the lake and bicycle infrastructure. The nightlife however could be somewhat improved. There is a good selection of bars and clubs, but still not quite as many as back home.
The uni is excellent in certain aspects but I don’t feel it is in everything! The sport, amazing! Hall system, amazing! Transport between campuses is very good, organised and efficient. I do however feel there could be improvements to some of the lecturing staff and the way they engage with students. Also having tutors who are more suited to students as I have found mine to be unhelpful and occasionally ignore emails.
This uni is honestly amazing. I have been abroad for a year, and although I had only spent a year at Nottingham prior to that it really felt like I was coming home. With a stunning campus, amazing facilities and passionate lecturers, the uni really is a lovely place to study. The student body is so diverse, there is something for everyone and the city is full of things to do.
I love this uni! Birmingham was my first choice but I didn’t get in, so I came here as my second choice. But I am so happy it turned out this way!! My absolute favourite thing is how this uni feels like my home. The stunning campus plays a huge part, and the fact that the city has everything a city should have but without feeling overwhelming. Overall, amazing experience living and studying here!
So far I have had a wonderful experience at this university. I have definitely made friends for life, whilst living life more independently than ever before. Due to being a campus uni, I was worried I’d feel a little isolated being away from the city. I actually adore the campus and feel very lucky to study in such a beautiful location, the greenery and boating lake is a welcome distraction from the stress of studying. I definitely recommend the University of Nottingham, for me, it ticks all of my boxes!
So far my experience with Nottingham has been amazing, both University Park and Jubilee Campus have excellent facilities, including all the new sports facilities, and whilst membership for these can seem expensive, it is definitely worth it if you make the most of it. The free hopper bus is also very useful for those needing to get to and from Jubilee Campus.
