The University of Nottingham is a good university, and I enjoyed it very much, that enjoyment is revolved around the city however, and less so the actual university. My 1st year was overshadowed by Covid and thus I didn’t actually get to see my lecturers until the second year. Once I finally into the lecture halls, I became wildly disappointed in the fact that nothing had changed from my year doing it on Microsoft Teams. Lecturers (often using previous year powerpoints) would just read slides, that were filled with text, offer little in conversation and simply tell you where to go and do your own reading and research. It got to a point in many of my modules where by the end of most terms, students wouldn’t ever turn up, as doing it from home on your laptop would have little to no affect than if you were to turn up at 9am and be in the lecture hall. I made a lot of great finds, and as I said the city is brilliant, but was it worth the student debt? Not at all!
View moreA very welcoming community, with a place and group for everyone which is ensured through the vibrant student union and opportunities. The academic support provided is also very successful in decreasing stress
View moreI appreciate the University of Nottingham for its globally recognized UK degree, diverse environment fostering cultural exchange, and the high-quality education. Meeting people from different backgrounds enriches my experience. However, I wish there were more events to enhance the overall university atmosphere. Overall, I would recommend it, considering the positives outweigh the minor drawback.
View moreI love everything about the school as it gives room for all international students not minding your race or religion. I had opportunity to participate in student affair as an education officer and in another year as Student President. Meeting people from diver culture and continent is a lifetime experience. Not forgetting the conducive learning environment and accommodation.
The study pace is just top notch while the technology or equipment used at the laboratories are modern equipment.
View moreI really enjoyed my life as a student here, even though the pandemic didn’t allow very much to happen.
It’s great for a sense of community and the teaching is exceptional.
We were affected by marking boycotts and strikes unfortunately which did mean that a third of the teaching and assessments were incomplete.
