Before coming to university, I was extremely nervous to be moving away from home and did not know what to expect. However, even from the first open day, Bath felt like a second home. The city is stunning and makes me feel completely safe. Whilst the nightlife may not be the most varied, Bath more than makes up for this with the number of bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Furthermore, Bristol is only a short train ride away and has a host of clubs for a great night out!
With regards to my accommodation, I stayed in Quads during my first year. Whilst the rooms were on the smaller side considering the high rent, the social experience was incredible. The large kitchen allowed for the flat to come together throughout the day and the shared common room with the adjacent flat provided a great chance to get to know more people.
I am currently studying BSc Psychology with Placement and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The course itself is varied and interesting, meaning that they’ll be something for everyone to enjoy. The various forms of assessment also provide an adequate challenge. Aside from the high quality of students, Bath’s Psychology programme is truly unique because of the placement opportunities. The university is extremely supportive to placement students and has connections with a wide range of institutions, companies and other universities – including ones abroad. This sets the university apart from others and allows for students to gain valuable experience in the field before graduating.
