I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying Nursing at The University of Glasgow. The course itself was well organised and had great facilities. The number of students per year is kept small which is definitely an advantage for students making the course more engaging and the lecturers more approachable. Being a vocational course it heavily involved placements and these were carefully picked ensuring students were given a variety and this definitely was a benefit when applying for jobs.
The University itself is situated in the West end of Glasgow which is a beautiful area to live, filled with parks, a fantastic variety of restaurants and shops. It is also within short walking distance of Glasgow’s city centre which is Scotland’s biggest city. If you enjoy the outdoors there are many trains and buses which link Glasgow to the Mountains around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Back to the campus the University has, not one but, two unions where students can socialise, eat, study and relax. There are many clubs and societies to offer which I would recommend participating in during your time at the University. They are great ways to make friends, learn new skills and sports and even plan trips abroad!
My time at University was great fun and I would highly recommend studying here!
