UCL really held an incredible standard of teaching during my time as a student. I enjoyed classes, in safe and modern environments, which entailed both lecture and small group format. I chose a double major, which I feared would be difficult to accomodate, but with UCL’s streamlined departmental communication, this was facilitated and enhanced my study experience greatly.
The facilities went above and beyond expectations in our department, with modern computer suites and study booths to fulfill any number of students needs. The many libraries and their multiple collections, formatted online in some cases, meant access to knowledge was always with reach.
Staff were commited to pushing us, which was exactly what I wanted to achieve above and beyond my expectations. Though they were also approachable, and down to earth; whenever you felt stuck, some would even talk things through with you at untimely hours! Further, you build a rapport with your tutor throughout your studies, which lasts well on after you’ve left.
For those interested in activities, you are spoilt for choice, from archery, to wing chun, to drama, to dinasour appreciation society! If you want to join a society you can, and if your society doesnt exist, you can request funding to make it a reality.
Best of all, you join a global network of alumni, keeping you connected long after you have left UCL.. I have many fond memories and experiences there, and I would encourage any who are looking for a unique and unforgettable experience to apply!
