I study at the new bay campus and have been there since it was first built. When I arrived in my first year I lived in student halls on campus; the on-site student accommodation is modern, spacious and all feature en-suite.I was lucky enough to also have a sea view which was an added bonus. Being one of the only campuses next to the beach this was a major attraction to me, as this is an area you can go in the evenings to chill with your friends. My first ever freshers week was also an amazing highlight and this is a great opportunity to meet new lifelong friends and to explore and create crazy memories within the notorious windstreet.
The campus has excellent access to public transport into Swansea or any accompanying city and features many places to eat, relax and study such as the 24/7 library. The campus also incorporates its own gym, sports hall and astro-turf pitches should you wish to take part in any 5–a side footy or sporting activities such as badminton. The university facilities are second to none and have everything you would expect and more on site, including large Harvard style lecture theatres and small seminar rooms that allow for more engagement and interaction with lecturers. During my time, I have found the staff and lecturers are really helpful and there’s always a feeling they genuinely want to see you develop and improve. I study Business Managemen (E-business) and believe it has provided me with a solid foundation in business in which to build upon and specialize further. There are also plenty of opportunities to work with real companies and gain relevant work experience to enhance your employability. I have recently signed up to the mentor scheme and this has really helped me develop skills and sharpen up my CV. Overall, Swansea University is the perfect place, to create lasting amazing memories, meet friends you will keep in touch with for life and to study what you enjoy.
