From the moment you step onto campus, you can feel the buzz of passion from students which is even more potent when you reach your lectures and seminars. Everyone who is accepted into the university are like-minded individuals and I have found that the friends I have made are all encouraging towards each other to strive for the maximum potential. On top of this, the dedication from my professors on my Marketing and Management course are more than satisfactory as they set aside many out of hours sessions for students that I have taken upon myself to use many times when needing extra help. The professors help explain further in detail and even suggest readings to help expand knowledge greater.
It is unfortunate that the University however sees a lot of strikes meaning a lot of lectures and seminars are missed meaning independent learning is vital at this university. Although the ability to do independent learning is a characteristic all university students must carry, sometimes the interactive side of university is what keeps up the motivation.
Other than my experience with my course, my experience with university societies definitely enlighten my time here. There are so many different types of societies that hold so many events so you are never left lonely. On top of this, there are endless opportunities for internships, work experience and more as the university holds many events for students. Personally, I have found great opportunities at events like this.
Overall I recommend this university for anyone regardless of whether you’re an introvert or extrovert, there is something for everyone at Queen Mary.
View moreI wanted to take a time to tell you about my experience studying for my MSc in Management at Queen Mary University of London. It was initially an impulsive choice for me to go straight from earning my Bachelor of Business Administration to starting my Master’s program. But as I’ve been more involved in Queen Mary’s dynamic academic community, I’ve realized how many opportunities are at my disposal. My educational experience has been especially enriching in that there are a lot of thought-provoking events available. View moreI enrolled in the Business Management program at Queen Mary University of London with high expectations, but my experience has been mixed. The education provided is decent, offering a comprehensive overview of business concepts. However, my dissatisfaction arises from several aspects.
Firstly, the excessive amount of readings is overwhelming. While I understand the importance of self-study, it feels like the balance between lectures and personal study is skewed. The workload could be more manageable to allow for a deeper understanding of the materials covered.
Another concern is the outdated slides used in lectures. Given the dynamic nature of the business world, it’s crucial to have up-to-date information. The reliance on outdated materials hinders our ability to stay current with industry trends and practices.
Furthermore, the frequency of teacher strikes has disrupted the flow of the academic calendar. While I respect the rights of educators to advocate for their concerns, the frequent disruptions have affected the continuity of our learning experience.
In summary, Queen Mary University of London provides an adequate education in business management, but improvements are needed in terms of workload management, updating course materials, and minimizing the impact of teacher strikes on the learning experience.

View moreI found the university to be strategically located in the heart of the city, striking a perfect balance between accessibility and seclusion from distractions. This ensured a conducive environment for focused academic pursuits.
The student accommodations along the canal were nothing short of picturesque, offering not only a scenic view but also well-equipped facilities. Living in such an environment added a pleasant dimension to the overall student experience.
One notable aspect of the university was its cohesive city campus. Unlike some universities where facilities are scattered, Queen Mary’s design facilitated meaningful interactions. Whether in the company of course mates, dorm mates, or interacting with lecturers and professors, the campus layout fostered a sense of community.
However, it’s worth mentioning that some departments appeared dated, and there seemed to be an opportunity to allocate resources towards their renewal. While the emphasis on student accommodation is valuable, directing some attention and investment towards updating departmental resources could contribute to an even more enriching academic experience.
