Smart, driven people, very intelligent professors. Experience and teaching quality varies a lot between departments. My department – Finance – had a small undergraduate class with caring staff and academics so it felt like a family (others, usually bigger departments, gave their students a less personal experience). Program is intense and while LSE tries to teach you applicable skills for professional careers, the focus is on academia – which is where LSE excels at.

There is a variety of students from different countries studying in LSE, students here get opportunities to explore cultures and history from various components of the world, which encourages us to respect every piece of opinion raised by others.

LSE is an awesome school especially if you are economics/finance students. It provides lots of career opportunities and the teaching quality is pretty good. Besides, the location of the school is very convenient for exploring central London.

I would highly recommend my university to other who have incentives to pursue social sciences in depth and achieve bright career prospectives in the future. The London School of Economics encourages students to meet their future friends and partners by setting up events like society fairs and rag band at the beginning of the first year.

Strength:
The school has good career resources provided, including networking events(although I seldom go), one-to-one career consulting slots( good place to check CV&CL), video interview practices( provide helpful and elaborate feedback ) etc. It is a fantastic place for students who are keen on looking for jobs and are very sociable(but I am not). Therefore, for me, it is a place that keeps forcing me to push myself out of my comfort zone.
Weakness:
It seems there is no campus. Tiny green area and great peer pressure of looking for internships. If you don’t try your best to get along with others on your own initiative, you will definitely feel enclosed here, so being active is important here.
Overall, whether you will love this place or not highly depends on what kind of person you are and what kind of person you would like to be. The final suggestion for everyone: remember to be yourself wherever you are.

The career service and classmates in LSE are great. LSE also provides convenient accommodation. The professor and guests of the events are highly professional in specific areas. We can get many from LSE.

Most of the teachers are great. A few of them not so great but I think that’s because we expect a really high standard, it’s not because they are terrible. The facilities are really good. __Be prepared to do a lot of work on your own, classes will only “touch” some specific topics, but if you want to know and understand what’s behind, you really have to do it by yourself. But teachers will be more than happy to discuss it with you in their office hours. __Everything is very well organized and there’s always a lot of activities going on! __It’s very career oriented, you’ll definitely feel some pressure, but try to use the tips and career services as much as you can because they are really helpful.

What amazed me most at LSE is the diverse background of the students and faculty. I learn from a wide variety of experiences and stories, which genuinely broaden my horizon. People all over the world gather here and share their views on the topics of global concerns. Immersed in the intensive debate at the heart of London, I have been truly motivated to learn, to observe, to think and to be a responsible individual for the world.

The reputation of the school is top notch within the Financial Services Industry. The careers team prepares you well for all the aspects of Banking and Consulting applications. You are given a wide range of resources and it is up to you to use them and maximize your chances. Being on a masters programme with great flexibility of electives, you can steer it in a way it will suit your future career aspirations. Most of the professors are world class and they are super friendly people.
