The university in general is great and the lecturers are very conscientious and involved. The study groups sessions in small groups are very useful to draw student’s attention on the key points highlighted during the lectures and make sure everyone has understood those key points. Career centre meetings are held twice a week to present students with career prospects in the biomedical engineering fields. Finally, London Imperial College is highly multicultural which helps discover new cultures and which helps interact with them in a very interesting way. Especially since even in times of COVID-19, the university is doing its best to study groups and lab work on-site as well as some of the lectures. The various group project we are assigned during the term also help us to learn and to work with new people with very different mindsets and working habits, which is a competency that is always more and more necessary in the labour world.
View moreThere’s a really great cross section of medical, biological, and engineering modules that are perfect for people with a scientific background that want to transition into biomed. There’s an unequal distribution of modules though, and many students find the intense first term rather challenging.
View moreAfter just a few weeks at Imperial, I have found the place to be wonderfully diverse. There aren’t very many places that can boast such an international community as London, and my course as a master’s student in biomedical engineering has certainly been a thorough and challenging one! I look forward to the adventures the year brings!
View moreThe programme covers various topics relating to the field. It is an intense course, and a lot of deadlines to keep up with. The professors were enthusiastic about the teaching. However, the building is lacking study spaces for students to work.
View moreIt’s definitely a very packed learning schedule, there’s almost a new deadline every week for coursework and there’s also a lot of lectures to catch up to, but all the content and learning experiences that are provided really push your limits and are very enjoyable to learn.
View moreI’m an international student studying Master’s in Biomedical engineering at ICL. Imperial is one of the top 10 universities in the world, and obviously it is one of the best. The standard of teaching is highly commendable and the faculty is very considerate about students’ well being. The modules are very well taught, though some of the study groups are a bit rushed. They are always open to questions and discussions and the coursework makes you really think about what you’ve learnt and how you can improve. There is ample support and a lot of resources ranging from books to videos and research articles. Being a master’s student, there is pressure. But the best part is you learn; not only the subjects, but also about yourself. Apart from academics, the college has over 360 clubs and societies and plenty of events are organised throughout the year. There are tons of opportunities available. At the end of the it depends on how you prioritize things.
View moreThe teachers at Imperial college are very passionate about their work, and it has a real impact on how they teach it. Best teaching ever. I totally recommend it. It will be hard but it’s totally with it.
View moreThe lecturers were great and good facilities throughout the campus.
The thing that I did not like was that not all lecturers were available. You had to email them to set a meeting (which is understandable), but most never reply and you have to chase them for a response. Really felt a lot of work just to ask some questions.
I knew doing masters in biomedical engineering at Imperial would be challenging, but it was a bit too hard, there were only 3 modules that had a bit of coursework and 7 other modules were 100 % exam based which is not ideal, with a 50 % pass mark.
I had a really a stressful year at Imperial and I would only recommend going if you first check how your modules are structured. For myself, I would not go back again. I have never felt this stressful before and do not want to experience it again.
The level of teaching is extremely high, and it is great to see how professors bring in their current research to our teaching time. Very engaging teaching and professors who are very keen to help individuals- they are very approachable. The atmosphere between the students is very friendly and everyone helps each other out. People are striving to do their best yet it is not a competitive atmosphere.
View moreThe best professors teaching what they’re best at! All professors are really big and respectable in their fields of expertise. It’s a real honour being taught be the greatest kinds of out time.
The international community at Imperial is really commendable.
