The University of Lincoln is located in the east midlands. It’s a developing university that offers several different opportunities in careers, academics, research and global opportunities.
As a student, I enjoyed travelling and coming out of my comfort zone. This university allowed me to do so much support. Through the help of academics and staff I have travelled to 5 different countries including but not limited to; Germany, Poland, France, Sweden and Malaysia. This international and academic experience has allowed me to gain important employability skills and lead to character development.
Negative factors: The handling of important issues such as COVID-19 and BLM protests where inadequate. The university refused to take COVID-19 seriously and allowed life to go on as normal – until student protests occurred to shut the university and move to remote learning. Furthermore, during BLM protests the universities students union was very insensitive and approached this issue in the wrong manner by copying and pasting a statement from another university on their page. This showed the lack of care and urgency. Although the university apologised several times for its student’s union’s actions this type of behaviour needs to change.
Overall – despite the negative factors, the university is in a state of development. It’s growing and changing. I would recommend Lincoln and I would return to do my Master’s due to the many experiences, quality of education and resources and opportunities.
