In general, the program I am studying not only allows me to have a rewarding learning experience but also gives me a sense of real university life. Because knowledgeable and helpful instructors, the friendly staff at our school, the resume of in-person teaching, and the lovely students jointly construct this brilliant atmosphere in today’s post-pandemic era. In addition, with regard to the modules I am studying and have completed, instructors combine theory and practice with a pedagogy that is engaging and entertaining, allowing students to gain insight into areas that are closely related to our fields. However, when it comes to the shortcomings of the program I am studying, the lack of in-person courses is still an issue of concern as our school still reserves some online courses, which might affect students’ experience. Moreover, this program is to some extent theoretical compared to other practice-based degree programs. I reckon the school’s management team can improve by reviewing the syllabus to diversify available course choices thus meeting various students’ needs and managing to organise more in-person sessions. Choosing our university equals selecting a kind of wonderful student life, a fact demonstrated by various bars and nightclubs located all over the city, the student union that organises social events regularly, and the supportive staff. So I will definitively recommend future students to consider joining our big family. Our university is very international, with one of the highest proportions of the international student population in the UK and a number of organisations and departments that aim to support international students. On the basis of my almost one year of study experience, I am confident about my career prospects. This is because the staff at our university’s career centre were very helpful to me with CVs and interview preparations. In addition, I took an optional module on career development in our programme, which had insightful knowledge that also provided useful information for my career prospects. Notably, even though my program is a bit theory-based as mentioned, the transferable skills and tons of available useful optional modules can still help students to enhance their career prospects.
View moreI think communicating with my tutors and supervisors freely is an excellent experience during my university life. Almost everything goes well with my expectation, i.e., a supporting, academic and friendly atmosphere. However, students need more internships to apply theoretical knowledge into practice. This will also motivate more students, especially overseas students, to engage in local culture. Besides, this will become an asset to one’s CV.
