I quite like my university as it is smaller than others so you can connect with staff and students. However, it is not as diverse as I would like it to be. Those who are of an ethnic background are the minority. There should be more social events so students can get to know one another and these should be at a convenient time. Personal tutors need to reach out to students for support and this will increase student retention.
View moreLeeds Trinity University is a good uni with supportive staff. Although a small campus this makes for a great atmosphere and maintains high levels of service and support when in need, this makes you feel valued as a student. The uni has such a community feel and all the professors I have encountered either through my taught lectures or in passing have been happy to stand and chat to make sure everyone feels welcomed and there are no problems.
The courses are well planned even despite covid, the teaching is great and I feel I am getting the most out of my course, enthusiasm from the lectures makes you love your lectures.
Due to having a small campus and a good 80% of students living on campus covid is a big deal and there are rules in place to help us all stay fit and well. They have taken a blended approach to learning where there is a split with on campus teaching and online teaching, which I personally find great!
The only negatives are the campus is in Horsforth and away from Leeds City Centre so it is quite of out of the way, but is still easily accessible by bus or train. I personally like the area of the campus but I can understand opinions of other students when it comes to things like nightlife.
Overall I think Leeds Trinity University is a great place to come if you’re looking for a smaller uni with a community feel.
