Edge Hill Univeristy is situated in Ormskirk under half an hour away from Liverpool by car and train, where I personally studied Psychology. On my three year BPS accredited psychology course I was introduced to a variety of different areas of psychology, from the more widely recognised clinical, social, and forensic psychology, to the more recently researched psychology in the virtual world. However, In the first two years students have no choice in what modules they undertake, therefore leading undergraduates who studied psychology at A-level to go over information they have already learnt.
In students third year though, they are given the opportunity to choose some of their modules, giving a wide choice in the subjects that they can learn about. Furthermore, they can also choose the title of their dissertation, unlike many other universities, which force you to write a paper on a question not of your choosing. Lecturers are also very helpful when it comes to writing and researching for your dissertation.
The main thing however that drew me to Edge Hill University, was its beautiful campus and accommodation. The campus is small and picturesque, with the necessities (Shop, library, computer rooms, bar), and the higher-end accommodation, which I stayed in was clean, well furnished with shared kitchen, en-suite, and computers in the bedrooms.
Overall, Edge Hill was a great university experience.
